The Quickbar Settings tool allows you to set your own
personal shortcuts to frequently accessed Applications and Sections with ease
rather than navigating throughout the Content Browser to locate them. The
Quickbar consists of Shortcuts and Containers and is located to
the upper left area of your Intranet.
A Shortcut is an icon that you set to link to an
Application or Section within the Intranet.
When you click on this quick link icon, the connected Application or
Folder appears in the document window.
The shortcut is automatically given a default icon, which depends on the
Application and Section.
A Container is an area that stores your shortcuts,
keeping everything organized for you.
To access each Container of Shortcuts, click on the appropriate tab,
which you are able to customize with a descriptive title. Once a container is created it is located on
your Quickbar and can be accessed by clicking on the tab name.
- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.

- Within
the Containers text field, enter the name of the new container.

3. Click
the Create New button.

Note: The
container is now listed in the Containers column.

Note: Now you must add
shortcuts to this container. To add
shortcuts to this container, refer to Create
Shortcuts on your Container below.
Note: The
container is now listed on your Quickbar.

- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.

- From
the Containers column, select the container that your shortcut will
be placed on.

Note: If
shortcuts have been already added, they will be listed in the Shortcut column.
- From
the Shortcuts area, click on the Add New button.

Note: The Choose
Folder dialog appears.

Note:
The Choose Folder dialog will appear differently, depending on what
Sections and Applications exist within your Content
Browser.
- Click
on the Application or Section that is to have the
shortcut.
Note: If the
application or Section you are seeking exists within a Section, you
must click on the Section’s plus sign to view the contents. Once you have located the application or Section
within a Section, click on its name.

Note: The Choose
Folder dialog closes and the selected Section or Application now appears within the Shortcuts column.

- Click Close.
Note: The new Shortcut
is now listed on the selected Container. Refer to Accessing Your Shortcuts
below for information on using your Shortcuts.

- Click
on the Container or tab that holds the Shortcut you would like to
access.

Note: If you
have no containers listed, you have not created any, and most likely, you have
not created your Shortcut either, therefore, refer to Create Container on Your Quickbar then Create Shortcuts on Your Quickbar.
Note: Existing
shortcuts are listed on the toolbar.
- Click
on the appropriate Shortcut to access the application or Section.
Note: Once the
shortcut is clicked on, the application or Section appears in the document
window.
- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.

- From
the Containers column, select the container to be renamed.
- Within
the Containers text field, enter the new name for the container.

4. Click
Rename.

Note: The name
of the container is now changed in your Containers column.

5. Click Close.
When deleting a Container all the Shortcuts that are stored
in this container are also deleted.
- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.
- From
the Containers column, select the container to be deleted.

3. Click
Delete.

Note: The Container as well as all the Shortcuts
that exist in that container are deleted.
- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.
- From
the Containers column, select the container where your shortcut is
positioned.

Note: Existing
shortcuts are listed in the Shortcut column.

- From
the Shortcut column, select the shortcut to be renamed.
- Within
the Shortcut text field, enter the new name for the shortcut.
- Click
Rename.

Note: The name
of the shortcut is now changed in your Shortcut column.

- Click Close.
- Click
the Quickbar Settings tab.

Note: The Quickbar
Settings dialog appears.
- From
the Containers column, select the container where your shortcut is
positioned.

Note: Existing
shortcuts are listed in the Shortcut column.

- From
the Shortcut column, select the shortcut to be deleted.
- Click
Delete.

Note: The Shortcut is now deleted from that
Container.
