Company Profile

Miller Bonded is a single-source contractor with approximately 200 employees and 110 years of combined experience in mechanical and plumbing systems . Dedicated to providing environmentally friendly solutions, Miller Bonded’s array of services include mechanical piping and plumbing installation, duct and pipe fabrication, CAD detailing and coordination, HVAC installation and system maintenance and repair.

Miller Bonded has completed successful projects at many distinguished locations such as UNM Centennial Engineering Laboratory, Albuquerque’s Presbyterian Hospital and Banner Hospital in Glendale, Arizona.

The Challenge

Miller Bonded came to Vialect in search of a Document Management solution. Not being able to locate documents and working on different versions was causing problems. Information was fragmented, hard to come by and generally unavailable to many who needed it—a variety of locations and user experience made providing resources in the most user-friendly way possible an exciting challenge.

Vialect had a mission of ensuring that Miller Bonded became more efficient with their documents and also to work with them to ensure their intranet could evolve with them as an organization as a whole.

Solving the Problem

Vialect began working with Miller Bonded in 2007. VP Laurie Highfill was actively looking for a solution to the company’s document management requirements . Ms Highfill ex- plained “we need to have information centralized, where everyone in- volved could find a single copy of a document, instead of multiple, different versions.” A robust, functional system was required to ensure important documentation was available for all users regardless of time or location.

With projects of varying sizes and in many locations around the New Mexico and Arizona areas, providing access to documentation, company information, as well as the ability to communicate immediately with any member of staff provides a solid platform from which to organize projects and communicate ideas and information.

Vialect’s Solution

Noodle’s Document Management module provides an easy-to-use interface for Noodle users, some of which are field-staff, not advanced computer users, with which to share project-vital documentation and make Miller Bonded “much more efficient with our paperwork.”

Not only has Noodle provided a comprehensive Document Management solution, Miller Bonded has also found other aspects of Noodle to provide real value to the corporation. The Database application has proved to be a real success, something that was never envisioned before deployment and, in Ms Highfill’s own words, “I never anticipated the use of the database module, and we’re using it heavily.”

Exceeding all expectations, Noodle is expected to become a larger part of life at Miller Bonded over the next 5 years.
